Full version: several currencies and a printable summary
The free tool stays free. A licence key adds two things for a trip that was paid in more than one currency: conversion with the exchange rates you type in, and one summary of the whole group that you can print.
What the key adds
- Expenses in several currencies. You pick the currency the group settles in, say which currency each expense was paid in, and type one exchange rate for each foreign currency. There are no live exchange rates: the site looks nothing up and uses only the numbers you enter. Every converted amount is rounded to the nearest cent, then the tool works out who pays who and builds the link for each person, as the free page does.
- A printable summary. One sheet for the group, in the language of this page: the group total, what each person paid, their share and their balance, the payments that settle everything, each expense with its original amount, and the rates you used. You print it, or save it as a PDF, from your browser's print window.
What stays free
Groups in one currency, the calculation of who owes who in few payments, the group link and the read-only link for each person need no key and stay on the free page.
How to use it
- Make the group on the free page. Type each amount as it was paid, in whatever currency that was, and leave the currency field for later. Amounts keep two decimals in every currency: 1000 yen is typed as 1000.
- Press the button that works out who owes who and copy the group link.
- Come back to this page, enter your licence key and paste the group link.
- Choose the currency of each expense, type the rates and convert. The summary appears at the bottom of the page.
Price
The licence key costs 5 USD and is sold through Gumroad, which shows you the key after the purchase. Gumroad may add sales tax or VAT at checkout. Keep your receipt: this page asks for the key each time you load it.
Before you buy
- Exchange rates are typed by you, the organiser. The tool has no live exchange rates and does not check whether a rate is right.
- This tool does not process payments, does not hold money and gives no financial advice. It only does the arithmetic; people pay each other however they choose.
- It is offered as-is, with no warranty. Check the rates and the numbers before anyone pays.
- Your group data stays in your browser and in the links. Nothing about the group is sent to a server, and anyone with a link can see its contents.
- Only the licence key is sent to this site, to check it. The site asks Gumroad whether the key is valid.
- The key is kept only in this page while it is displayed. It is not saved in your browser and the site sets no cookies, so a reload asks for the key again.
1. Enter your licence key
2. Paste your group link
The link is read in this page only. It is not sent anywhere.
Who pays who
One link per person
Each link shows one person what they pay or receive, in the currency the group settles in. It carries only that person's payments and totals.
Group link with the converted amounts
This link reopens the group on the free page with every expense already converted. Whoever has it can see every name and expense.
