What the tool does

Per-Person Owe Links is a calculator that runs in your browser. You enter the people in a group and the expenses they paid, and it works out who owes who, in few payments (the fewest possible for groups up to 10 people). It then builds one read-only link per person and one link to reopen the whole group.

Privacy

• Your data lives only in the link. The names, amounts and results are written into the part of the link after the # sign. Browsers do not send that part to the server, so the site never receives it.
• Nothing is stored on a server. The site has no database and no accounts, and it stores no data.
• The site sets no cookies and uses no browser storage, no analytics and no trackers. It loads no resources from other sites.
• Anyone with a link can see its contents. A person's link carries that person's payments and totals, together with the names of the people they pay or receive from. The group link carries every name and every expense. Share each link only with the people who should see it, and avoid posting links in public places.
• Links are not encrypted and cannot be revoked. A link you have sent keeps working for whoever has it.
• The site is static files on a web host (Cloudflare Pages). Like any web host, it receives the technical data of each page request, such as the IP address and the browser type, in order to deliver the page. That data does not include the contents of your links.

No payments and no advice

• The tool does not process payments and does not hold money. It moves no money between anyone; the people in the group pay each other by whatever means they choose.
• The tool gives no financial, tax or legal advice. The result is arithmetic on the numbers that were entered.
• A recipient page shows what its link says. Anyone can make a link, so a page from this site is not proof that a debt exists.

Offered as-is

The tool is offered as-is and as available, with no warranty of any kind, to the extent the law allows. Check the numbers before anyone pays. To the extent the law allows, the operator of the site is not liable for losses that come from using the tool or from relying on its results. Nothing here limits rights that the law of your country gives you as a consumer and that cannot be waived.

Fair use

Use the tool only for lawful purposes and only with information you are entitled to share. Do not put other people's sensitive personal data in a group.

Changes

These terms may change. The date at the top shows the latest version. Links made earlier keep carrying their own data, but their format may stop being readable if the tool changes.
